Norwegian Spirit set for New Orleans debut
Quote:
The Port of New Orleans will welcome Norwegian Cruise Line’s 1,966-passenger Norwegian Spirit for its inaugural cruise from the Crescent City on Sunday.
Norwegian Spirit succeeds NCL’s Norwegian Sun, which operated from New Orleans last season.
The new ship will sail seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries calling at Roatán, Santo Tomás de Castillo (Guatemala), Belize City and Cozumel. Operations will be from New Orleans’ Erato Street Cruise Terminal through March 30.
NCL became the first homeported cruise line to return to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina when the Norwegian Sun initiated service on Oct. 15 last year.
Norwegian Spirit joins the 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy, which sails four- and five-day Western Caribbean cruises year-round from the New Orleans.
