Norwegian Sky/Pride of Aloha - aircon/plumbing issues continuing and ship is for sale
Despite having her name changed back to Norwegian Sky, the ship is still up for sale. Her itineraries only run to April 2009, which could be a sign that she will not be kept in the fleet for too much longer. Added to that, she has been beset with problems since her introduction on the short cruise route out of Miami.

Sky is certainly having problems...over and above the usual suspects such as food & service. Her aircon has been playing up badly enough that the aft section of the ship had none and then the whole ship had none whilst (unsuccessful) repairs were attempted...the plumbing has had equally bad problems, toilets not flushing/toilets overflowing...there have also been issues with the edges of the pool being sharp causing cuts and grazes to legs and a variety of other difficulties.
She has done 3 or 4 cruises now but things do not seem to have improved any. Housekeeping is also being slated too.
Now considering this ship was in full service on Honolulu itineraries and then went for drydocking, it does seem very strange that NCL has slipped up so badly with the ship and her general condition/staffing.
Hopefully things will improve, however the fact that she is still for sale and is owned by Star but operated by NCL...and she wasn't part of the Apollo deal...then her time with NCL could be short, hence the lack of significant repairs or improvements.

After a few well aimed emails from disgruntled passengers, it appears that there could be a light at the end of the tunnel for Sky.
The top brass are meeting today and discussions about how to deal with the ongoing problems with the ship's aircon & plumbing are on the agenda. Moves already considered are moving booked passengers to other cabins in another part of the ship and various compensation packages to past cruisers.
It does appear that aft cabins are the most affected, mainly on deck 8. It also appears that call center staff are being brought up to speed regarding the problems on board too...which is really good news as many would-be cruisers had been told that everything was fine, when in reality is wasn't.
