Hi Lena, welcome to the family

I have been on NCL Jewel and will be on NCL Gem later this year. Both are sisters of Pearl. The drinks are a little more pricey than in the UK, plus there is a 15% charge on top, which doesn't sound huge but it will bump up the bar bill by the end of the cruise.

The ships are beautifully appointed, extremely colourful...one helpful part is that each stairtower is a different and usually bright colour (Jewel had turquoise, orange and cerise stairs, one colour for aft, midships and forward) and outside the cabins the carpet had brightly coloured fish woven into it, all swimming towards the forward part of the ship...and it really does help in getting around the ship easier too.

There are many choices of where to eat, from fast food to authentic Japanese or Italian to French cuisine...bars, well again there is plenty of choice onboard, champagne, whisky...to the usual sort of bar found at home.

The cabins are of a good size, well equipped and like the rest of the ships, extremely bright and colourful.

Hope that helps a little
