Coast Guard rescues injured passenger from cruise ship
A crewmember who was injured aboard a cruise ship off the coast of Cape Cod has been airlifted to the mainland.
The 22-year-old woman was taken off the Norwegian Majesty by a Coast Guard helicopter this morning about 150 miles southeast of the Cape.
The nature of the trauma or how the woman was injured was not released.
The victim was flown to Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis and taken to Cape Cod Hospital.

A woman who said she was having internal bleeding was airlifted from the Norwegian Majesty cruise ship and flown to Barnstable Municipal Airport and later the Cape Cod Hospital on Monday morning, the Coast Guard said. The vessel was located about 150 miles southeast of Cape Cod.
The woman's name and condition are not available.

Mary it all looks surreal. You see the helicopter approaching and the spray from the sea and then in the forefront is the smiley face.
Good catch on the webcam though.

I witnessed the whole event while sitting in the pool side lounge "Cafe Royal". The mishap put us behind by 3 hours as we didn't arrive to St. George's until almost noon on Tuesday. We were advised on Wednesday (?) that the crew member was recovering fine from her injuries, this was good to hear.
