Those of you who use Legacy Genealogy software - or who are considering becoming users - should take note of Legacy's latest plans for its annual genealogy cruise.
In the past the group has sailed the eastern Caribbean, the Alaskan waterways and the Hawaiian Islands. The 2008 trip will be a European cruise visiting Copenhagen; Berlin; St. Petersburg; Helsinki; Tallinn, Estonia; Stockholm and London.
Genealogy classes on using the Legacy software will be conducted during the "at sea" days so not to interfere with the activities at each port of call.
Legacy experts will conduct the classes on Legacy and its companion software: Genmatcher, GenViewer, Legacy Charting companion, Pocket Genealogist, GenSmarts and others.
Participants can expect to master their skills using Legacy products and to improve their research skills in all areas.
One of nicest benefits of such a conference, however, is getting to know other users of the software and being able to compare tips and notes with them. You will find yourself with a new circle of friends in the Users Group to provide support long after you return home.
The 12-day cruise will depart from London on July 16, 2008, on the Norwegian Cruise Lines Jewel.
Genealogy cruising has become more popular each year with good reason. Combining a great trip with a great hobby works well and can be a great family adventure even if not all the family is into genealogy.
Having enjoyed several different genealogy cruises myself, I have found my family is always excited to join me on one!
Reservations should be made as early as possible. The special group rate starts out at around $2,000.
