Default Bringing beverages onboard the Gem....

Hey Everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome! This is probably the first of many questions I will have in the next 3 weeks. Can someone enlighten me on the rules for bringing soda, water, OJ on board the Norwegian Gem and how should I bring it on? Sneak it on, or do they care?

Thanks,
Sue

Hi Sue.....I've not sailed NCL, so can say for sure how strict they are.

Usually, non alcoholic beverages are allowed in "reasonable amounts."

This is quoted from NCL's website ...the FAQ's

What can't I bring onboard?

Passenger is not allowed to bring on board the vessel without the previous written permission of the Carrier any intoxicating liquors, or beverages, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal.

Thanks for your reply Mary.....I read that on the website also, just want to double check. I would think a reasonable amount would be ok also. Plus, they do not have diet sprite as a fountain soda, so I was just going to bring a 12 pack. I also heard that the orange juice isn't really orange juice, unless you want to purchase a glass of fresh squeezed for $3.50 each! Not! So we are going to bring some "real" oj. Thanks again!

Just remember that all times on boarding a cruise ship your belongings has to pass through airport style X Ray security checks. What you bring on board is at the discretion of the ships security officer.
