I can only assume that Mrs Rae-Williams, has not got a British/EU passport otherwise there shouldn't have been a problem with this cruise embarkation.

UK passport holders are in the visa waiver scheme, so by rights she should have been OK unless her passport was from a country not included on the VWS.

Been on three cruises starting and finishing in USA. Twice immigration occurred on ship at port before disembarking and the other occasion immigration was done at St Thomas.
England does not exist in USA, but as Wales, Scotland and Northern Islands have their own assembles persons can register in the name of their country, we are just UK. She either had a passport with less than six months remaining, or as was said, she came from another country. Norman
