Default Cruise Passengers Cars Damaged !

Cruise Junkie is reporting that passengers returning from a RCI cruise to the Bayonne Terminal, in New York, have found that cars left in the parking area have been damaged.

The damage is said to be paint which is thought to have come from the nearby drydock where a US navy ship was being painted.

It would seem that the paint spray has been carried over by the wind into the parking area.

The Bayonne port is actually New Jersey, not New York, but it is very close to NY. Here is an article regarding the problem. We parked here for a week on our recent Explorer cruise and did not have any damage to our vehicle.

The spray paint problem had been reported more often a year or so ago, but it was my understanding that the parking area was moved from the painting, so problems were gone. There was a recent complaint however, so perhaps this is becoming a problem once again.

I have only been to New York once, which was on the ss Oriana about 1974 !

We were on a round trip cruise from UK and tied up at an old pier for two and a half days !
