Part of Louis Public Company Ltd, a public company listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange, Louis Cruise Lines is the largest cruise company in Cyprus and one of the key players worldwide.

The Louis Group entered the business of owing and managing cruise ships in 1987. In August 1999 the company was listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. Louis Cruise Lines owns 11 cruise ships. It operates and manages vessels in the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Canary Islands, South America and the Caribbean.

Three of the cruise ships, namely Thomson Spirit, Thomson Destiny and Emerald are currently chartered to Thomson Cruises, a subsidiary of TUI, the largest European tour operator.

All ships are refurbished and upgraded continuously to maintain the highest standards of quality and service. The management of both the technical and the hotel operations of the ships are carried out in-house as the knowledge and experience of the company covers all facets of cruise ship management.

Some of the ships in the Louis Lines fleet...

AQUAMARINE is owned by Louis Cruises. She was formerly CAROUSEL, Airtours second vessel having previously operated for Royal Caribbean. She has 2 sisters. In the summer she operates out of Palma in Majorca and in the winter out of Tenerife.

IVORY recently enjoyed a charter to British tour operator First Choice and operates in the Mediterranean. She was originally built in Italy for liner trade. Her owners are Louis Cruises who now operate the ship out of Cyprus.

CALYPSO is currently owned by Louis Cruise Lines following their successful bidding at a Greek auction where the vessel was laid up. Originally a car ferry the vessel serves the Greek Cypriot market and on charter work.

CORAL was built for Cunard as their CUNARD ADVENTURER. She later passed to NCL, then in 1992 she moved to ROC of Greece as TRITON. In April 2005 she was sold at auction to Louis Cruises.

SAPPHIRE currently operates for Louis Cruises in the Western Mediterrean. She has operated for many companies, most recently Thomson Cruises.

Louis will be adding two new ships in the coming months. As of November 2008 Norwegian Dream will be added and in December 2009, Norwegian Majesty will be added. Name changes will be posted in due course.
