New boss at IM seeking to encourage business with new packages
Martin Salzedo was named president and coo of Imperial Majesty Cruise Line, replacing Arthur Pollack, who left to pursue other interests.
Salzedo brings 25 years of industry experience to the Florida-based line, which operates two-night cruises to Nassau. Previous positions include ceo of Discovery Cruise Line, vp of Apollo Ship Chandlers and vp operations for Paquet French Cruises. He began his career with Carnival Cruise Lines.
At Imperial Majesty, Salzedo plans to expand awareness by increasing advertising in South Florida and building strong relationships with travel agents and tour operators. He has introduced special government employee birthday fares and is working on pre- and post-cruise hotel packages for stays in Nassau/Paradise Island.

Regal Majesty is a beautiful ship, she is well maintained, up to SOLAS 2010 and one of the last classic liners still in active service. It's what makes IM unique, I personally hope they can keep her running for many more years to come.

I know there are folks like yourself Ally, who love those classics, but the vessel does not impress me in the least. It's here every other day in Port Everglades. They were mentioning sometime last year that it will have to be replaced by 2010 with a more modern vessel.
If I want to go to Nassau, I'll be on either Royal Caribbeans' Enchantment Of The Seas, or one of Carnivals Fantasy Class ships. The other alternative of course is to fly.

Regal is only a few years older than QE2...yet QE2 is classed as ageless....its funny really how some ships have that certain something and other's don't. The older ships epitomise 'real' ocean cruising, not a floating resort. Thankfully there are ships to cater for all tastes....although the classics are vanishing a little too quickly for my liking. And had it not been for the classics, the likes of Freedom of the Seas would not be around now.

I agree, guess I'm too modern Ally.
