Question Old Fashioned small or all singing, all dancing big?

Which size and style of ship do you prefer?

Do you like being on a smaller less fussy ship, or do you go for big and glitzy?

What would be the main reasons for your choices?

I think when I choose I will go for the big ship. Seems to me the bigger the ships the larger the choices.

I love the "smaller" ships (sub-1000). They have enough space to explore and enjoy but still feel intimate. I was on Braemar last summer and the fact that the waiting staff got to know you even in only a couple of days added to the pleasure. I've also been told by others that on the mega-ships there are so many dining options that you may never dine with the same people twice - this is frustrating as a singly as meals are an early opportunity to get to know people.

As they say "horses for courses" but give a smaller or mid-sized ship a look as they often have more varied itineraries - see the press staements on the Fred Olsen thread.

I prefer large ships, but much of that is for my own comfort. I find that I feel the wave movement on a smaller ship moreso than I feel it on a larger ship. I just get less sick, so I prefer the bigger ship. I also enjoy the constant exploring and finding new things to do every single day on a big ship.
I certainly can see how a smaller ship could have its advantages. I just am on the school of thought of "Bigger is better" when it comes to cruise ships!!
