Smile GCT to sponsor 13 part TV series 'The Seasoned Traveller'

GRAND CIRCLE SPONSORS PUBLIC TELEVISION’S “THE SEASONED TRAVELER” PROGRAM

13-Part Series Geared To Americans Over 50

BOSTON—Grand Circle Corporation, the leader in international travel, adventure, and discovery for Americans 50-plus, is the sponsor of “The Seasoned Traveler,” a 13-segment series about international and domestic destinations of interest to viewers over 50. This is the second year that Grand Circle has been the primary supporter of the series that has taken viewers from the majestic heights of Peru’s Machu Picchu to the magnificent depths of Slovenia’s Postojna Caves.

“We are proud to support public television and programs that encourage older Americans to get out and explore the world,“ said Chairman and CEO Alan E. Lewis. “Travel changes people’s lives, and once people get out there and experience other cultures and ways of life, they’re usually hooked for life. We’re glad that the Seasoned Traveler highlights some terrific destinations for both experienced and novice travelers.”

George Bauer, a broadcast journalist for 30 years, is the show’s creator and host. In the show’s first season, Bauer took viewers along on a European river cruise, on an RV-buying excursion, across Canada by train, to the Christmas Markets of Europe and to Liechtenstein, one of Europe’s smallest countries. He also explored Copper Canyon and other parts of Mexico, Vancouver Island, Toronto, and the “Four Corners” region of the U.S. In Season II, Bauer explores post-war Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina, as well as the U.S. Gulf Coast, the gardens of England, castles in Scotland, Panama, Machu Picchu and Peru, and more.

About The Seasoned Traveler
Seasoned Traveler Productions, Ltd. produces “The Seasoned Traveler” in partnership with station KCTS-TV in Seattle, Washington. American Public Television in Boston distributes it. The series is airing this spring and runs through the end of the year on public television stations across the U.S. For more information on “The Seasoned Traveler,” including local station information, please visit: index.jpg.

Perhaps you could do some reviews of the cruises, Rick...give others who might like GCT an insight on what to expect....

I posted the trip report of my GCT European River Cruise in 2006 on TripForums. Here is the link:

Castles, Cathedrals, and Cobblestones - TripForums

If there is an easy way to take the thread from that forum and post it here, I have no problem with that. I will be posting the report of my recent trip to Italy as soon as I have time to write it.
