Grand Circle Cruise Line Named Best Value Cruise Line By Travel + Leisure Readers
Grand Circle Cruise Line, the award-winning leader in international small ship travel for Americans over 50, took 1st place for “Best Value Cruise Line” as rated by Travel + Leisure readers in the magazine’s March 2007 issue. Travel + Leisure asked its readers to rate hotels, cities, islands, airlines, cruise lines, and tour operators according to value as part of its World’s Best Awards survey.
“We are extremely pleased and gratified to have received recognition for our value from Travel + Leisure and its readers,” said Alan E. Lewis, Grand Circle’s chairman and CEO. “As a direct marketer with 45 offices worldwide, we don’t use a middleman, which typically adds several hundred dollars to the price of a cruise. And because we own and operate most of our fleet of 50+ ships, we can control cost while maintaining high quality. As a result, our small ship vacations generally cost several hundreds and even thousands less than comparable vacations offered by others. In fact, our most popular river cruise, Great Rivers of Europe, is about $3700 less than that offered by one of our competitors.”
