River cruising that caters for mainly US guests across Europe, Nile and Yangtze.
Grand Circle's private fleet
Built with your standards in mind
Our private fleet of European river ships was custom-built, incorporating suggestions from Grand Circle travelers. You'll cruise with only Grand Circle travelers for the ultimate in camraderie. Share stories in your ship's lounge. Relax on deck with a cool drink. Enjoy single seating and personal service in the dining room. And take comfort in knowing that your ship's staff and crew— all fluent in English— will always be on hand.
River Cruises designed with you in mind
When Grand Circle decided to build our own line of river ships, we polled our passengers to learn what specifications and amenities they desired on a River Cruise. We took these suggestions and incorporated them into the ship designs.
Our ships were launched between 1998 and 2003. As America's leading River Cruise operator, our fleet caters to American travelers.
Relax in your outside cabin
All cabins on our ship are outside so you'll always have a view of passing scenery. With a layout of at least 150 square feet, your cabin accomodates twin beds that ship staff convert into day-time couches, closet and storage space, a desk with vanity mirror, and a private bath with shower and hair dryer.
You'll enjoy a direct dial telephone, and a color TV, including CNN programming and shipfront views from a bow camera. Certain cabins also feature balconies.
Casual style in an intimate setting
After a day of exploring charming ports and medieval castles, you'll appreciate the relaxed camraderie of your private river ship. Sit back and enjoy an apertif in the bar and lounge. Slip into the library to read or write a postcard or two. Take in a sunset on deck. Your English-speaking staff wants you to have a good time and will do whatever they can to help.
Travel safe, sound and carefree
As you'll discover throughout your voyage, technology has helped to make many of Europe's rivers safer to navigate than travelers of bygone eras ever could have imagined. For example, you'll enjoy a landmark transit of the canal that links the Main and Danube rivers— an engineering feat completed less than ten years ago.

Shipboard Security
We’ve taken the necessary precautions to ensure your well-being and safety during your entire vacation, including the time you spend aboard our private, Grand-Circle-only river ships.
* Ships are registered in Switzerland and fly under the Swiss flag
* Whenever possible, prime docking space is reserved, so that only Grand Circle passengers are allowed to walk through the lounges, corridors, and other parts of our river ships
* Entryway doors secured by a code that is changed at least once per cruise
* You'll be cared for 24 hours a day by an English-speaking crew
* Security staff in Regensburg, Passau, Basel, and Frankfurt
* Smoking/non-smoking. All cabins are non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted in a well-ventilated area off the lounge and outside on the Sun Deck.
* State-of-the-art navigation. Shipboard radar means safe navigation at night and in poor visibility. You can even request a visit with the Captain in the wheelhouse.
