Smile Black Watch & Balmoral - World Cruises 2009 released

With the advent of a fifth ship, *Balmoral,* in January, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will offer its most varied choice of itineraries ever in 2008/09. Highlights of the new programme (a full brochure will be launched next month) include two long voyages.

Black Watch departs from Southampton for her world cruise, travelling in a westerly direction, on January 6, 2009, for 97 nights. She will sail via the Canaries to the Caribbean and a transit of the Panama Canal, then on to French Polynesia and the islands of Tahiti, Tonga and Fiji en route to Australia. The voyage continues to Mauritius and Mozambique and calls at Cape Town in South Africa and the countries of Namibia and Ghana before returning via Cape Verde and the Canaries.

Balmoral's world trip takes a different route. She leaves Dover on February 14, 2009, for a 104-night voyage, heading first to Lisbon and Valletta before reaching Port Said in Egypt and transiting the Suez Canal. Balmoral will visit Jordan and Oman, Goa in southern India, then Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam where she calls at Ho Chi Minh City. Hong Kong is next and then come some first time ports of call for Fred. Olsen: Shanghai and Tianjin in China, and Yokahama in Japan.

Balmoral cruises to Alaska before moving on to Vancouver and finally the western coast of the US visiting Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. She returns via Mexico and Guatemala, transits the Panama Canal then travels back through the Caribbean and the Azores.

Having looked through both itineraries, they are astounding and the ports of call are excellent.....oh for the want of £20/$40k for the single cabins on either of them
