Smile Photo opportunity - Ft Lauderdale - Jan 10th 2007

Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2 are set to meet on Jan. 10 in Fort Lauderdale as they embark on world cruises. Queen Mary 2’s 81-day circumnavigation will be the liner’s first, while QE2’s 108-day voyage will mark its 25th world cruise.

Crowds are expected to turn out to see the two vessels, which will be visible from several points, including the 17th Street Causeway Bridge. At 5 p.m., viewers can also watch the Queens sail together from Fort Lauderdale Beach, at the pier or beach at John U. Lloyd Beach State Park.

I went to Port Everglades to see both Queens, and here are some pictures. These were taken from the 17th St Bridge.

With all the luxury, pomp and circumstance, I can handle a 108 day cruise. You sure won't be bored. Think of all the exotic places you'll be seeing, like Honolulu, the American Samoas, United Arab Emirates(UAE), etc.
