Default QE2 European Break

Hi I am booked on the QE2 for a mini cruise visiting Zeebrugge & Rotterdam. The dates are 17 July 2008 to 20 July 2008. Is there anyone else going to be joining me?

Ello John
Goodness this one has crept up quick. Did you tell Mary about it or is it still secret.?
Will be interesting to see what you think of the Cunard way of things.
Make sure you pack your Dickies.

As it is 3 nights. the max will be 3, but I think one will be required. I'll let Mary take her pick.

The Docs have not yet arrived. My TA Phil has been chasing Cunard up all week. They assured him that the tickets have been sent out and should be with him no later than Monday.

The other thing that I have to watch out for is how to get down to Southampton. The plan is for me to drive down. I have the parking all sorted. However after an accident at work my hand is in a splint. At first I was being treated for a broken bone, now it is torn cartilage. I am currently receiving hand therapy. We will wait and see how things go otherwise I think we will travel down by train.

Train from Watford/Bletchley may be frustrating as it usually involves the "TUBE" (say in tone used for "VAMPIRES" or other horrors). X-country is pretty good if you can get to a station they use. Direct & a great First-class offering.

Southampton Central is not too far from the QE2 terminal and wellserved by taxis (it's a bit far to walk!!). I hope the hand gets sorted.

I wish I was with you!! (Don't we all)

How long in Rotterdam??

The Spido habour tours are great and leave form one end of the Erasmus Bridge. I loved the trip but I'm a spotter in that sense (ship & bits). Oh! & if you see a bunch of gents in "traditional Dutch garb" (clogs & stuff) get on deck on the dockside as they may sing a range of shanties to see you off.(A highlight of the Boudicca visit)

We are in Rotterdam for 8 hours. We are planning to meet some friends in Rotterdam who will take us on a drive around town.

There is no way that I can avoid the tube but then I do not mind it.
