What makes this even more embarrassing for Louis is that passengers aboard Aegean Pearl were offered cruises on Cristal to make up for the cancelled cruise following Aegean Pearls collision with Zenith earlier in the week

Goodness there seems to be an awful lot of knocks in Piraeus recently. Wonder if the increased traffic in the Med doesn't help.?
Lets hope that all the damage is minor for all concerned.

I think a lot of the trouble with Piraeus harbour is that too many ships now seem to be using it and the port gets crowded..

On some days there has been eight cruise ships in port as well as the ferries.

Today the total numbers are given as 76 arrivals and 70 departures in the last 24 hours !

Cristal did have a reputation, before being bought by Louis Cruises, as being a difficult ship to handle but since they obtained her she appears to have been sailing with no problems.

She should have sailed at about 15.00 hrs today but appears not to have left Piraeus until about 21.00 hrs.

When I last checked her on the AIS maps she was steaming along at 18.30 knots !

She was due to arrive in Istanbul at 15.00 hrs tomorrow.

Lissos is one of the converted Japanese ferries and was built in Japan in 1972 !

Hi

The arrival time of Louis Cruises ship ' Cristal ' at Istanbul has now been changed from 15.00 hrs. to 22.00 hrs. on Saturday.

Her original schedule shows that she should remain there until 18.00 hrs. on Sunday.

Hi

This morning the Louis Cruises ship ' Cristal ' is cruising at 16.8 knots and is about 40 miles off the entrance to the Bosperous sea.

Her arrival time at Istanbul is still listed as 22.00 hrs tonight.

You never know it might have been their Chairman on the bridge of the Cristal.

They do have an ' L ' on their funnels !
