Default Celebrity disabled cruiser info....

Celebrity Cruises welcomes guests with special needs and works hard to assist them throughout their vacation. To ensure guests receive appropriate assistance, your Destination Oceans Cruise Specialist must notify Celebrity Cruises' Special Services Department in writing at the time of booking of any special medical or physical need and other relevant information, including wheelchair characteristics. Guests with special needs must be self-sufficient or should travel with a guest.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchair assistance is provided for boarding and departing only. Wheelchairs are available. Please contact Celebrity Cruises' Special Services Department for details. Wheelchairs are subject to availability.

Wheelchairs on Cruisetours

On Cruisetours, wheelchairs are not available. Guests must bring their own collapsible wheelchair. Unfortunately, the land portion of the Europe, Whistler and Canadian Rockies Cruisetours are not suited for persons confined to a wheelchair.



Wheelchair-Accessible/Special-Needs Staterooms

A letter from the client's physician on doctor's letterhead and confirmation of disability is required as per Celebrity Cruises policy for each guest who physically requires a wheelchair-accessible/special-needs stateroom. Your Destination Oceans Cruise Specialist must fax these documents to Celebrity's Special Services Department.

Accessibility On Celebrity's Zenith

Features on Zenith include:



* Bathroom dimensions: 41 square feet average
* Stateroom/bathroom doorway width: 36"
* Ample floor space for wheelchair maneuverability
* Two twin beds in L-shape configuration and one upper berth; able to fit two cots if necessary.
* Wheelchair can roll under sink and into shower
* Fold-down stool in shower with detachable showerhead
* Bathroom walls have handrails
* Toilet seat is 17" high from floor
* Pull-down clothes racks

Accessibility On Celebrity's Century, Galaxy, Mercury, Constellation, Infinity, Millennium And Summit

* Bathroom dimensions: 47 square feet average
* Stateroom and bathroom doorway width: 35" (39" on Constellation, Infinity, Millennium and Summit)
* Ample floor space for wheelchair maneuverability
* Wheelchair can roll under sink and into shower
* Fold-down stool in shower with detachable showerhead
* Bathroom walls have handrails
* Adjustable mirror above sink
* Toilet seat is 17" high from floor
* Light switches at wheelchair level
* Pull-down clothes racks
* Refrigerator

Hearing Impairments

Any Celebrity guest may request in advance from the Special Services Department the following features:

* Smoke detector
* Direct ear personal listening system to assist the hearing impaired
* Alarm clock with bed vibrator
* Combination doorbell and telephone transmitter

Oxygen

Guests dependent on oxygen or requiring oxygen therapy may travel on board; however, they must supply their own oxygen and Special Services Department must be advised. E-mail or fax the name of vendor supplying oxygen two weeks in advance of sailing.

Transportation*

Transportation can be arranged by Celebrity Cruises for guests who are unable to board our buses. This service is offered at no extra charge to our Air Arrangements guests or those who have purchased cruise-only transfers.

Dietary Accommodations*

Celebrity Cruises can accommodate a variety of dietary needs if requested in advance. (Not all special diets can be met.) They happily accommodate the following special diets on board: diabetic, low-fat, low-sodium, low-cholesterol, kosher, gluten-free, and lactose-free. *Requests for transportation and dietary accommodations for guests with special needs must be faxed to Celebrity Cruises' Special Services Department, on Destination Oceans Letterhead, at least 21 days prior to sailing (60 days prior for Europe and South America).

The Zenith has four accessible outside staterooms that are 199 square feet. The numbers are 5048, 5049, 5060 and 5061. Both the entry and the bathroom doors are 35" wide and there are no sills. The bathrooms are 41 square feet and have roll-in showers, hand held shower head, fold-down seat and grab bars. The sinks have knee clearance underneath and the mirror is adjustable. The toilets are 18" high and have grab bars.

All decks are accessible as are the public restrooms.


Century

The Century has eight accessible staterooms, seven of which are outside. The numbers are 5048 inside, 5068, 5062, 5056, 5050, 5067, 5061 and 5065 all outside. The cabin and the bathroom doors are 35" wide. The light switches are lowered and there is a cordless telephones. The cabins are 253 square feet and have no sills. The bathrooms have roll-in showers, fold down seats, hand held showers and grab bars. The toilets are 18 inches high with grab bars and the sinks are accessible and have an adjustable mirror.

All decks are accessible and there are accessible public restrooms on the Resort Deck near the Island Cafe and on the Promanade Deck outside the Grand Restaurant.


Constellation

These numbers are; 2022, 2031, 3018, 3021, 6004, 6005, 6012, 6014, 6103, 6105, 6107, 6109, 7032, 7137, 7139, 7141, 7143, 7212, 8121, 8125, 8127, 8176, 9117, 9121, 9123, 9164. The cabin door width is 36" and there is no sill. The bathroom door width is 36" and there is also no sill. The bathroom has a roll-in shower with fold down bench, grab bars and hand held shower head. There is knee clearance under the sink and the mirror is adjustable. The toilet is 17" high and has grab bars.

All decks are accessible via elevator which has audio floor indicator and Braille numbers. There are accessible public restrooms.


Galaxy

Mercury
