Lightbulb APT Amadeus newbuilds confirmed

Quote:
Chris Hall, gm sales and marketing for Australian Pacific Tours, today confirmed an order for two new European river ships to be delivered by 2010.

The as-yet unnamed vessels to be constructed in The Netherlands at the Grave Shipyard will give APT Amadeus, a joint venture between the Australian family-owned company and California-based Amadeus Waterways, eight Europe river ships.

Hall said the newbuilds bring the total investment in the APT Amadeus fleet to A$200m (US$186.6m). The ships carry 150 passengers, with a crew of 41 and are 110mtr long ‘for easy city port access.’

Amadagio entered service in 2006, Amalegro followed in 2007 and Amacello made her maiden voyage this month.

Amadante makes her maiden voyage on June 1 and the fifth and sixth ships, Amalyra and Amadolce, enter service in 2009.
