Lightbulb New 4D cinema on AIDAbella

Quote:
AIDAbella, currently on her maiden Baltic voyage, features a 2,300sq mtr Body&Soul wellness area with an African-theme, a novel 4D cinema plus seven restaurants.

Whilst the restaurants, bars and three-deck Theatrium are all hallmark features first introduced on AIDAdiva the first ship in a new generation of AIDA club ships delivered last year, new on AIDAbella is the 4D Cinemare entertainment centre located in deck 11 where the audience can see, hear and feel motion pictures with amazing effects. Moving seats and nozzles emitting smell, fog, water, air, heat and cold will enable passengers to ‘virtually’ jump in the ocean, roam the jungle and feel the freezing arctic wind on their face.

Using a 3D projection system with high resolution beams and complex sound system, the 24 leather seated cinema moves in all directions following the scenes on the screen.

Specially computer-animated pictures take the audience into a fantasy world – onto the moon, into the galaxy or down into a gold mine.

A selection of motion pictures has been designed for different age groups making the Cinemare an experience for all the family.

The PartnerShip-inspired interior design features ambers, yellow and reds throughout creating a warm modern atmosphere. The seating areas in front of the centrally located Theatrium have been modified offering a uninterupted view of the sea. All 1,025 cabins are furnished in bright colour schemes with large paintings in water-colour style. The Pier 3 bar, located near the gangway is deisgned to look like a sailor's club with wooden floor and harbour scene mural. Up on the sundeck two life-size sculptures overlook the pool area. The two are leaning towards each other as if in conversation summing up the AIDA concept: light-hearted holiday atmosphere and charm.

Named by Eva Padberg on Wednesday evening, AIDAbella is currently on her seven day maiden voyage to Bergen, Oslo, Gothenburg and Copenhagen. She then starts her 10-day cruise programme to the Baltics before moving to the Canaries in September where she will be based until April 2009.
