Aida cruises started in 1996 with their first ship the AidaCara.

They started to revolutionize the cruise market and step back from the traditional cruising and it´s conventions.
They call their ships Clubships and follow the club concept one knows already from land based club resorts like Club Robinson or Club Med. There´s a high range of animation going on but they also have quiet zones.
Aida Cruises is number one in Germany counting passengers and income.

Aida cruises operates 4 ships sailing to destinations like Mediterranean, Canary Islands, North Sea & Baltics, Caribbean, Middle America and Dubai.

The current four Clubships are:
AidaCara, AidaVita, AidaAura and AidaBlu

There will be four more ships coming by 2007/2008/2009/2010 of the AidaDiva class, built by Meyerwerft, Papenburg Germany.

The new ships will be at 68500gross tonns, 252m long and 32.2m wide.
They will host 2030 passengers in 1015 cabins and sail at a speed of 21 knots. Power will be generated by 4 Diesel engines at 50.000horsepower or 36.000kw.
