2007 Bumper year for AIDA Cruises
Quote:
AIDA Cruises carried a record 259,000 passengers in 2007, an increase of 8.3% compared to the previous year whilst turnover increased by 10.5% to €451m.
2008 will bring further highlights for Carnival’s fast-growing German brand. Its 2009/10 cruise programme will be launched at end February, whilst one month later newbuild AIDAbella will sail down the Ems River from Meyer Werft and undergo sea trials prior to her official naming in Warnemünde on April 23.
At end August, AIDAaura departs from Hamburg on a transatlantic voyage for New York via Iceland, Greenland and Halifax. During September the ship will cruise between new York and Montreal before sailing onto her Caribbean winter base of Aruba on October 24.
