She should have character, individuality, sophistication and class (by class, I mean the ambience that QE2 has always had about her). She should have real wood, not formica veneers, Wilton/Axminster carpeting, British made ceramics...bathrooms and crockery alike...basically a purely British feel about her and certainly not a floating Vegas with gawdy colours and lighting.
Make her look like an ocean liner, both inside and out, and not just another floating block of flats

I agree with you.Cunard/Carnival Corporation should have built the Queen Victoria and the soon to be in service in 2 years time new Queen Elizabeth as Panamax versions of the QM2 and not use the Vista Class Cruise Ship design which is really a Holland-America design or really a Holland-America Ship painted in Cunard colors with a Cunard style funnel. This is not to say the Vista Class Cruise Ships are ugly ships. On the contrary they are nice looking cruise ships. But it is really an Holland-America Ship design.Cunard should be allowed to have its own identity.I guess I should look at the bright side of this topic. It is better then Cunard not getting any new ships at all and the Queen Victoria and new Queen Elizabeth since they are built to be stronger than the other cruise ships will still be able to do the occasional Southampton to New York transatlantic crossing though it will be a 7 night crossing than the 6 night crossing the QM2 and QE2 are able to do because the QV and the new QE are slower ships than the QM2 and QE2.I know that the QM2 and QE2 are true Transatlantic Liners.
