Thanks for the description of where the AIS is on the bridge. If it did fail for any reason, would the crew on the bridge be aware of it...such as does it do anything to let the crew know that it has developed a fault, for example?
I know AIS doesn't have full coverage but when she was on a similar itinerary last week, we were able to find her alot more often than this week...and in areas of the Baltic region that she has not transmitted from this time around. Which suggests the possibility of a fault with the equipment..albeit an intermittant one.
