On the last night of this cruise I attended the theatre show. At the show I bought a drink for me and Mary and put in on my keycard. Afterwards I bought a few items from the shop.

Later when I tried to unlock my safe I could not unlock it, You need to swipe your keycard. Mine didn't work. The steward sorted it out for us. Anyway when I left the ship I was stopped by security. You had to hand in your key card. Mine set the alarms ringing. Anyway after a bit of discussion it turned out I had the wrong key card. It was swapped at the time I bought drinks at the theatre. Surprisingly when checking the bill there was only a small discrepancy of £0.75. That's why when I got the bill nothing registered. It doesn't matter where you buy things on the QE2 you are billed in another room.

Anyway I wrote to Cunard to explain what had happened. I wasn't interested in the £0.75. I explained what happened and guessed that the other perosn involved would have had the same problem. Just in case any problems arose I wanted to explain what happened.

Today I got a letter back from Cunard apologising for the mix up and the trouble it caused me (there wasn't much) As a gesture of goodwill they have refunded me the full on-board expenditure. That was a nice and unexpected surprise.

I will certainly cruise with Cunard again.
