Hi

This was a regular event on many of the P & O cruises sailing from Sydney in the 1970's and 1980's.

It nice to see it is still carried on even though they now have an airport.

Mail could take up to six months to arrive as it would be picked up by the next supply ship calling at the island !

Along with the cans containing mail we also dropped over another can with biscuits and goddies for the island boat crew as they often brought their boat out through a very strong current to meet our ships.
