There aren't any really serious problems about travelling alone, Kazzie. Just make sure that you stay aware of the surroundings that you are in, don't advertise yourself as a tourist - ie leave cameras in your bag, not around you neck or wrist, take a minimum of cash with you and keep things like passports & credit cards in a secure place. As long as you are careful, then there really isn't anything to worry you tbh. If you can, get friendly with others on the ship and go out and about as a group if you feel uncomfortable...safety in numbers does apply sometimes, especially in ports where there is obvious poverty or if you want to venture around a port of call without using the ship excursions. As for being left behind, well if you go with the organised trips the ship is duty bound to wait for you and if you go it alone or as part of a group of friends, make sure that you are back onboard at least an hour before it is due to sail.
